Arc Flash Protection
An arc flash is a sudden release of heat and light from an electrical fault, and the protection needed depends on the energy it can release. This collection brings together arc-rated cut resistant gloves, arc flash visors and flame resistant clothing from Portwest. Each product page states its own rating, so you can compare it with the result of your arc flash risk assessment.
Cut resistant gloves with an arc rating stated on the product page, for work where electrical and mechanical hazards meet.
Face protection with the arc class stated on each page, designed to fit compatible Portwest helmets. 8 products available.
Modaflame flame resistant workwear in hi-vis and standard styles. The standards each garment is made to are stated per product.
Free UK delivery on orders over £75.

Choosing arc flash protection
Arc flash protection is specialist PPE. The right rating depends on the energy a fault could release at the point you are working, which comes from an arc flash risk assessment carried out by a competent person. Compare the rating stated on each product page with that assessment, and do not choose by price or by the highest number alone.
Arc protection is usually layered: face protection, hand protection and flame resistant clothing each play a part, and they need to be compatible with each other and with the rest of your kit. If you are kitting out a team, read the product details carefully, or contact us and we will help you find the right products to compare. For flame resistant clothing, see our flame resistant coveralls collection.
